My blogging and actual brewing activity has been WAY too quiet lately. I guess that’s what happens when life/work gets in the way. That doesn’t mean that the brewing “itch” is gone! My last brew of 2010 was my Russian Imperial Stout. That brew session seemed to me to be a disaster, and I didn’t feel confident at all about how it was going to turn out. I even forgot about it in the fermenter for two months!
With my confidence low on this batch, I decided to keg the RIS. Boy am I glad I decided to keg instead of bottle!
I’m very happy with this brew. It’s a nice roasty, chocolaty stout even if it’s not as big of a beer as I intended. I will definitely have to try this recipe again. Now I just need to get my technique down!
